This year SILA changes positions with the purpose of having a new space, adapted to the new necessities of the International Far of the African Book. Thanks to the great acceptance by part of the professionals, of the public and of our financing and collaborating we could have gone incrementing the offer of programming and services. The organization of the SILA in this new space has been possible for the important implication of Tenerife's Town Council, and its decided bet, since we began this project, in order to achieve its development and consolidation.
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, promoted by Tenerife's Town Council, is a work of the Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre of Meuron and of the canary Virgilio Gutiérrez. This new cultural surface, that was inaugurated in October 2008, gives cover to various halls of expositions, a great library and the Photography Center Isla de Tenerife.
It’s an innovative idea not only for the Island but to everything Canary Islands, because it’s a cultural unprecedented infrastructure in the Archipelago, with a decided contemporary vocation to unite the art generated by the new technological changes of our society.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital city of the largest one of the seven islands that constitute the Canarian Archipelago, placed inshore westerner of the north of Africa, receiving also its name one of the two provinces in which the Canarian Community is divided.
Municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has a 151-Km2 extension, that occupies an ample northeastern zone of Tenerife, its altitude goes from the sea level to the approximately 750 meters of the top of the municipal district, while it conforms a crucible of microclimates and landscapes of the most varied.
